LisaLingOn Oct. 21, RFFI and community partners Richmond City Justice Center, Camp Diva’s Girls for a Change, and Trinity Family Life Centerwere featured on an episode of CNN’s “This is Life with Lisa Ling” entitled “Fatherless Towns.” The episode focused on a father-daughter dance held for inmates at the Richmond City Justice Center, and explored the work RFFI and its community partners are doing to improve parenting skills and strengthen families in Richmond.

Terence Williams, who has been in and out of jail more than a dozen times for drug-related offenses, was one of the fathers featured on the show.

“When I didn’t have no money I didn’t come around because I didn’t feel like I could be a father,” he said on the program. “And being in this program taught me that what I thought was being a father wasn’t being a father at all. Being a father is spending time with your children.”
